A Season of Gratitude: A Personal Message from Frank and Nick

"To everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven." As we reflect on the journey of Promise Keepers NZ, we recognise that we are entering a significant moment of transition. In the following reflections, both our National Director, Frank Po Ching, and our Board Chairman, Nick Tuitasi Q.S.M., share their hearts as they prepare to step down from their respective roles. These are stories of obedience to God, equipping the men of New Zealand, and the steadfast commitment to seeing families and communities transformed for Christ. We invite you to read their personal messages of gratitude for the past and their unwavering excitement for the "next level" season God is preparing for the men of this nation.
PK’s Lasting Impact by Nick Tuitasi

As I step down from the Chairmanship of Promise Keepers in 2026, I reflect on my involvement with PK. I have amazing memories that go back to the first PK Event that I attended at East City Elim Church in the late 1990s.
There were seven speakers, seven altar calls and I went forward seven times. Not because I didn’t know Jesus, but because I wasn’t committed to Him to the level that these inspirational speakers challenged us to be.
The following year, one of the foundational members, Paul Subritzky invited me to share at a youth break out during one of the PK Events, and the rest is history. I was recruited as one of the impact players that would come off the bench, when my particular skill set was required.
Over the years I have heard testimonies from men who have been impacted, just like me, from Promise Keepers Events that they have attended all over New Zealand.
Promise Keepers has been, and will continue to be, a tool in the Mighty Hand of our Commander and Chief, to call men to attention from generation to generation. We are called to stand for truth and righteousness on battle fields that involve our families, churches, workplaces and community spaces.
The fruit of PK Events and the influence that this ministry has had here in New Zealand and abroad – only God knows, but one day we will all be made aware, to His Glory.
Thank you to those who have supported Promise Keepers from its introduction, to today, and into the future, as it transforms into the power tool God is shaping in this season. I am excited for the future of this ministry and the ‘Next Level’ involvement it will have in this Nation.
With the finish line closer than ever before, I believe the best finishers are kept for the last leg of the relay race. It is for this reason that I make myself unavailable for the last quarter of the game. I will celebrate the victory at the end with the whole team, but I have enough wisdom to discern, when it’s time to give up a position on the team, for the generational leaders that God has prepared to finish our race with style.
It is with both pleasure and great excitement that I introduce Pastor Fa’amanu Telea as our incoming Chairman. I truly believe he is the right man, at the right time, for the right reason. While I’ve assured him, I’ll be right there in his corner, ready to carry his training gear if needed, I have full confidence that his leadership and vision will quickly set a new pace for this ministry. Please join me in welcoming him as he takes up the baton for this next leg of the race.
With our courageous National Director, Frank Po Ching, also completing his assignment, our faithful Board member Peter Meyer will be stepping in to manage business enquiries. This allows the Board the necessary space to seek the Lord’s master plan for the upcoming season.
We take our lead from the example of King David, who despite being a battle-hardened veteran, continued to go back to God before each war, to seek the Lord’s battle plan.
Thank you, brother Frank, for your amazing leadership and for sacrifices made, as our National Director over the last three years. Only the Board and your patient family know the real cost it has been for you over this season, so may God bless you for your obedience and commitment to Promise Keepers and the men of this Nation.
As the saying goes, behind every good man is a great woman and a surprised mother-in-law. So I want to acknowledge the great work of the women in the engine room. Thank you to Candice, Caroline and Sally who have been the backbone of our organisation, the Heavenly glue that has kept our waka together during the seasonal storms.
So, what’s on the radar for me you might be wondering? Well, I will continue to work full time launching a new anti-violence programme for Pasifika men and their families, incorporating many of the values and lessons I have learnt from Promise Keepers over the years.
I am also assisting the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association to gather 2500 delegates to a Congress in Australia in August 2027, while trying to explore personal business and ministry opportunities in Samoa, where I intend to retire.
I wish you all the very best for this coming season brothers and encourage you to go back to the basics of the gospel. Be a follower of Jesus, not of movements, people or organisations who, “having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away.” (2 Timothy 3:5).
Blessings,
Nick Tuitasi Q.S.M.
Outgoing Promise Keepers NZ Board Chairman
When God says, “Son, It’s Time” by Frank Po Ching

It’s been years of praying that God would open the door for me and my family to go into fulltime ministry. Doing a YWAM Discipleship Training School in the early 2000’s, birthed the hunger in me for missions. Serving the Promise Keepers ministry for the past three years was an answer to prayer. My prayer though was never for a short-term mission. In fact, I don’t ever remember I had a timeframe, other than praying for overseas missions. The Lord was kind to me – I travelled to the South Island several times for PK events. I guess that’s ‘over-the-sea’ missions.
On a serious note, when I prayed about accepting the PK role of National Director back in late 2022, I had a strong sense that my time was going to be short with PK. I sensed two years. I had peace from the Lord, and I accepted the role with full support from my family. The PK Board and the team couldn’t be more welcoming of me, and likewise the PK community around the country welcomed me with warm open hearts especially when I turned up at local PK events.
In the natural, the timeframe seemed short, and yes it was. However, obedience in the Lord is countercultural. It was apparent after the first year why the Lord put me in the role. It was even clearer immediately after our first large event in August 2024 that I was going to be in for another year. I held it with an open hand but waited for the Lord’s confirmation. That confirmation came in August 2025, during our Refiners Fire PK event in Auckland which was to be the ‘spiritual relaunching’ of Promise Keepers into the new season. It was then I heard the confirmation from the Lord that my time had come to an end.
Ecclesiastes 3:1 says, “To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven.”
What we know is that God is constant – always. Seasons come and go, events in our lives happen for a time. But God’s will and timing are always perfect. Our obedience in Him is in the waiting, being still, being patient, then moving aside when He says, “Son, it’s time!”
Thank you, Promise Keepers Board members, past and present. Thank you, Candice, Sally, Caroline, Christian, and all the PK leaders and volunteers from around the motu, the many Pastors and leaders of other Christian ministries. You have all enriched me to no end.
This has been a privilege of a lifetime – leading this ministry even for a short time. I pray that the Lord will continue to shine His face upon you and for PK to keep going after the Lord’s heart – to lead the men of this great nation to His heart.
Thank you.
In His richest blessings,
Frank Po Ching
