Why You Are Built for Frontline Authority
by Richard Brunton - If you’re born again, you have the Holy Spirit. He lives within you. Most of the people we will meet in the marketplace don’t have the Holy Spirit. But we do. This is a staggering truth.
We need to be constantly aware of Who we are carrying. We carry His presence wherever we go. The power that raised Jesus from the dead is latent within us.
Carrying a Stagging Truth
About two years ago I sensed the Lord say, “If you only knew the authority you have in Christ Jesus, you would change the world”.
What I have discovered is that the Holy Spirit wants out! He wants us to move in the authority that Jesus won for us on the cross.
He wants to work through you and me to bring the Kingdom of God to Earth. More than that, He is relying on us to do so. This is one of the greatest revelations of my life.
Releasing God’s Love
I remember the first time I stood up in front of a thousand people to ask the Holy Spirit to come upon the business people. As I blessed them, my legs were shaking so badly I thought everyone could see. But the Holy Spirit did come. He honoured my faith and I learnt a big lesson. He is waiting and eager to be released.
As we speak God’s intentions and favour over people, the Kingdom of Heaven swings in behind to back us up. I didn’t know that, but I do now.

We do not have to be passive. Jesus has given us power and authority to change the course of events ourselves.
We are meant to intervene, to engage, to make a difference. We can move mountains. It’s in our DNA. If we will pray and bless with God’s authority, we will change lives.
Faith in Action: Two Real-World Stories
Here are two examples of what can happen when we move in love and faith. First: an extract from a young businessman’s testimony:
“My father never told me he loved me. He had an emotional block. Finding loving, caring, emotional words were not something he could say, despite my soul craving it. Whilst through the forgiveness and inner healing journey my depression lifted, I still carried some physical symptoms - the biggest being irritable bowel syndrome, for which I had been prescribed drugs and a diet from my doctor with some but little effect, which I was told was to manage the symptoms, as opposed to remedy.
One morning in a café, over breakfast, Richard stepped into the shoes my father couldn’t fill and blessed me as a son. The Holy Spirit fell on me and remained with me that entire day. It was a beautiful experience and that part of my soul which had been crying out was at peace.
An unexpected outcome, however, was that my symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome stopped completely. My medication and doctor’s diet were thrown out when my soul received what it had been craving; my body was healed too.”
Second: I visited a café on the summit of Mount Lofty, Adelaide. As I was leaving an elderly lady entered with her husband. She was pushing a walker. On an impulse I asked her if she had a bad leg. No, she explained, it was her back. I asked if I could pray for her back. She was not keen. I persisted gently and after prayer I got her to walk around without the walker. “
Oh,” she exclaimed “I can stand up straight now, and the pain has gone!”
Choose to Believe and Release
Anyone can bless and release God’s love and power with their words. As we step out in faith, we can see people healed and delivered.
Choose to believe… and release the love and power of Jesus wherever you are.
