Moving to a New Season in Faith

seasons in life, times of change, man walking dog, trusting God with the future,

Any time you transition into a new season in life, the changes can be subtle, and it is only over time that the changes become apparent. Other changes are significant enough to be noticeable straight away. For Promise Keepers NZ, the goals remain the same, e.g.: honouring Jesus through our obedience, worship and prayer; actively pursuing relationships with other brothers; building strong marriages and families through love and biblical values; supporting the local church; and much more.

In times of change there is a need to pivot from one way to another especially when new elements are present that were not there before. As well as that, the former guards move on, and new ones come along to continue the journey, and with that comes new ideas and insight.

What must remain though, is the goal; the objective; it’s the ‘why’ you do what you do. More importantly, in our work for the Lord, is that our faith remains in Him. Making sure that our ‘Yes’ as mentioned last week, is not for our self-centeredness and ambitions, but for Christ’s purpose alone, and only Him.

At any new junction I find myself at, I think of the Lord’s faithfulness in these stories; Noah built the Ark despite being ridiculed by the people. He was obedient to the Lord’s instructions, and at the ordained time, the Lord rained down on the earth wiping out the people and their sinful nature, leaving only Noah and his family to start again.

God called Abraham to leave his homeland for another land He’d give him and his descendants, a land that he would have ‘forever.’ God made a covenant with Abraham to be the father of many nations because of his obedience to the Lord.

The Israelites, after living under harsh slavery Egyptian rule, were led by Moses out of Egypt to the land promised by God for His people. During their forty years in the wilderness, what remained the same was God’s faithfulness and the goal, but instead of Moses, it was Joshua who led the Israelites into the promise land.

The greatest demonstration of God’s faithfulness is the story of Jesus’ resurrection. The promise of a new life if we put all our trust and belief in Him who died and rose again on the third day, and that He is the Son of the Living God.

With these stories and more, what I find comforting is that God the Father is faithful. No matter what season or new beginning you are in, remember what Jesus said; “I am the vine; you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5).

In this new season for Promise Keepers NZ, we remain in Christ, our Lord and Saviour. We remain faithful to the work entrusted to us by those who toiled faithfully to continue this ministry to where it is today.

To those who continue to sow faithfully into the work of Promise Keepers, our hearts are in thanksgiving because of your generosity and obedience. For the many who continue to support this ministry through prayer and other means, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

I invite you to continue walking with us in this new season of ministry, and we are excited for what the Lord holds for Promise Keepers NZ.

In His richest blessings
