From PK Field Rep to Online Brotherhood: How PKNZ Became My Lifeline
In a culture that often tells men to 'tough it out alone,' Nick Kaspers found a different path. After years as a PK Field Rep, a sudden health crisis changed everything. Discover how Nick moved from the front lines to an online 'sanctuary' – and why he believes this PK brotherhood is the ultimate lifeline for Kiwi men today.

As I reflect on my years with Promise Keepers New Zealand, I’m filled with gratitude for a ministry that has truly shaped who I am today.
Promise Keepers NZ is a Christ-centred movement dedicated to uniting men through vital relationships so we can become godly influences in our world. Their DNA – to embrace, encourage, and empower men to be all they can be for God – has been the heartbeat of my own faith journey.
I’ve been involved in many PK events over the years, from powerful gatherings that stirred my heart to serving as a Field Representative, working alongside various men’s groups across New Zealand.
Those in-person experiences taught me the power of standing shoulder-to-shoulder with brothers in Christ. They helped me focus on life purpose, destiny, character, integrity, and true manhood; all rooted in biblical truth.
PK gave me strength for today and hope for tomorrow, just as the ministry promises. I left every event refreshed, refocused, and ready to lead my family and community with courage.
But life threw a serious health challenge my way, and suddenly the in-person events became harder to manage. That’s when I discovered the true gift of PK’s online men’s groups.
In the quiet of my recovery, those virtual gatherings became a safe place to chat honestly – no masks, no pressure, just real men sharing real struggles and real victories.
The support I found carried me through dark days when isolation could have won.
Being part of the PK online men’s group with individuals like Paul Monahan (the visionary former Director who launched the Set Free Groups) and brothers like Ants Puki and the rest of the crew can be life-changing. Paul’s wisdom, Ants’ encouragement, and the honest accountability from everyone else can turn a screen into a sanctuary.
We pray together, study the Word, laugh, and lift one another up. In a culture that often tells men to “tough it out alone,” this group reminded me I’m never alone in Christ. It’s exactly what PK’s “Why Men Need to Connect” webpage describes – authentic friendships that produce peace, wholeness, and lasting legacy.
This truth echoes the profound words in John’s Gospel about the Messiah: “In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.” (John 1:4-5). And further, “That was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world.” (John 1:9).
These verses highlight Yeshua as the eternal source of life and the Shechinah Glory light – the visible manifestation of God’s presence that pierces darkness.
In our group, we’ve experienced this light shining through shared testimonies and prayer, dispelling isolation and illuminating paths forward even in personal trials. It’s a reminder that Christ’s light empowers us to support one another as brothers.
Right now, in New Zealand’s tough social climate – with so many men battling isolation, pressure, and uncertainty – Promise Keepers NZ is needed more than ever. Their events, weekly studies, Set Free groups, and online community are beacons of hope. But none of it happens without support.
That’s why I’m asking you to stand with us. Your gift today fuels vital men’s ministry across the country, keeps these groups running, and helps more Kiwi men find freedom and purpose.
