Feeling the pressure? Find your anchor point in God.
by Geoff Wiklund - God reaches down in our darkest moments of captivity and shows us grace. All we need often, is that moment of God’s grace to relieve us, set us free and re-establish us.
I see grace as His power to accomplish His will, and so for me in my present circumstances, this is very special.
In my daily reading, I was drawn to these verses:
Ezra 9:8-9
And now for a little while grace has been shown from the Lord our God, to leave us a remnant to escape, and to give us a peg in His holy place, that our God may enlighten our eyes and give us a measure of revival in our bondage.
For we were slaves. Yet our God did not forsake us in our bondage; but He extended mercy to us in the sight of the kings of Persia, to revive us, to repair the house of our God, to rebuild its ruins, and to give us a wall in Judah and Jerusalem.
The word in Ezra 9:8 translated as peg is also translated as nail in some versions. The same word is used for a tent peg in Isaiah 33:20 and Isaiah 54:2.
God gives you and I a grip in His holy place to keep us anchored.
We are recovering from a recent car accident, and we are selling our house but interest in the house has been quiet for a long time. This peg is His promise that it will sell, and we will be able to keep our commitments.
This peg is an encouragement to my faith to trust in His promises that He will perform them, and on time.
God enlightens our eyes and revives us amid our difficulties. For all of us, the pressure comes on, and God sends us a revelation and revives our flagging faith. God, through His grace, allows us to rebuild after our defences have been beaten down.
BUT GOD
I can think of so many times in my life where the enemy has attacked my defences, BUT GOD by His grace has spoken a word and revived me.
I don’t know what you are facing right now, but I do know there is a moment of grace available to revive you and enlighten you during adversity.
LET'S PRAY TOGETHER:
Lord, right now, I take hold of Your promise like a peg that gives me a hold in this tight spot. I know that You are able and willing. I submit to Your will and Way. I wait on You for Your deliverance in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Prayer Request
Please pray for Geoff and his wife Joanne Wiklund, as they recover from a car accident and subsequent medical treatment. Let’s pray for them now:
Lord, we bring Geoff and Joanne before Your throne of grace and ask You to provide all that they need. In Jesus’ name we declare healing and a speedy recovery for Geoff and Joanne. May Your peace be with them and Your joy comfort them. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
