Blessing Your Family and Praying for God’s Protection

How to Bless Your Family and Pray for God’s Protection

Prayer of blessing and protection to pray over yourself and your family

Heavenly Father, I come before Your throne of grace in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up myself and my family to You. We acknowledge You as our King, our Protector, and our Provider.

Lord, we declare that we “dwell in the secret place of the Most High” and “abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” I say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.”

We specifically plead and apply the precious blood of Jesus Christ over our lives, our spirits, our bodies, and the doorposts of our home. We thank You that we “overcome by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of our testimony.” Just as the plague could not enter the houses marked by the blood, we thank You that Your blood is our seal of redemption and a hedge the enemy cannot cross.
(Psalm 91:1-2; Revelation 12:11; 1 Peter 1:18-19)

Thank You, Lord, that “no evil shall befall” us, nor shall any plague come near our dwelling. We trust in Your promise that You “give Your angels charge over us, to keep us in all our ways.” Be a “wall of fire all around” this family. Let Your peace, “which surpasses all understanding,” guard our hearts and our minds today.
(Psalm 91:10-11; Zechariah 2:5; Philippians 4:7)

We clothe ourselves in the “whole armour of God” to stand against the wiles of the devil, being “strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.” We trust that You, our Shepherd, will lead us beside still waters and restore our souls. We thank You that You "supply all our need according to Your riches in glory by Christ Jesus."
(Ephesians 6:10-11; Psalm 23:1-3; Philippians 4:19)

“The Lord bless us and keep us;
The Lord make His face shine upon us, and be gracious to us;
The Lord lift up His countenance upon us, and give us peace.”
In the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.
(Numbers 6:24-26)
